The port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge adopts the "Three Places and three Inspections" model, which is independently built and managed by Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao respectively. The Zhuhai road port is divided into two parts: the passenger inspection area and the cargo inspection area.

Among them, the passenger inspection area covers an area of 356,000 square meters, including the Zhuhai-Hong Kong Passenger Inspection Building, the Zhuhai-Macao Passenger Inspection Building, and the exit and entry passenger release hall, etc. The passenger inspection building has four passenger inspection halls for entry and exit from Zhuhai-Hong Kong and Zhuhai-Macao. The cargo inspection area covers an area of 234,000 square meters, including vehicle buffer zones, waiting areas, inspection platforms, etc. In terms of vehicle customs clearance, there are a total of 30 truck channels, with 2 inspection platforms each for entry and exit. There are a total of 48 passenger vehicle lanes, with one inspection platform for both entry and exit.

According to the construction plan of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, passengers, vehicles and goods traveling from Hong Kong to the mainland and from Macao to the mainland will have their customs clearance procedures handled at the artificial island port via the bridge.

Since the construction of the West Artificial Island Port began, Gongbei, as the Zhuhai road port of the artificial island, has been conducting 24-hour customs clearance work all day long. The construction and preparatory work for building the most intelligent and convenient first-class port is being carried out in an orderly manner, and large-scale regulatory facilities and equipment reflecting the latest technology are being successively delivered to the site. Seven major platforms and nearly a hundred systems, including the "one-stop" checkpoint system, are under development.
