When we step into an elevator, we can't help but think of a question: An elevator is a rather enclosed space. How does it maintain the circulation of air? In fact, the main way for an elevator to "ventilate" is through air conditioning. So, how to install an elevator air conditioner? Let's take a look together with the editor below!
Installation steps for elevator air conditioning
I. Installation Instructions for Elevator Air Conditioning |
| It is recommended that the air conditioner be installed on the bracket of the upper beam to prevent vibration during operation. It is recommended to remove the original motor fan to prevent the air conditioner and elevator fans from being used simultaneously, which may affect the cooling effect. It is recommended that the power circuit breaker be installed at the front end of the conductor (For example, take the independent lighting power supply at the computer room control cabinet), as shown in Figure 3 |
Ii. Laying Cables: |
Determine the power input point of the elevator air conditioning cable in the machine room and select a power supply that will not cause interference to the elevator operation (such as lighting power supply) as the power supply for the elevator air conditioning. Enter the shaft along the cable trough. The cable must be kept in sync with the operation of the elevator's flat cable (to avoid damaging the cable). Tie the cable and the flat cable tightly with cable ties at intervals of 0.5 meters until the cable is laid and tied tightly. Observe at the bottom of the shaft whether the cable and the flat cable are in sync throughout the elevator's entire journey. During the cable laying process, it must be carried out by construction personnel with professional qualifications to ensure that the laying of air conditioning cables complies with safety regulations and prevent accidents. The air conditioning cables for our company's elevator air conditioners are available in the following specifications for customers to choose from:
A. The 5*0.75 specification GB/T5023.6-2006 is recommended for use in elevators with 10 floors or less. B. The 3*2.5 specification GB/T5023.6-2006 is recommended for use in elevators with 10 to 20 floors. C. 3*2.5 with steel core specification GB/T5023.6-2006. It is recommended for use in elevators with more than 20 floors. |
Iii. Install the power socket: |
Install the air conditioning power socket at an appropriate position on the roof of the car. The length of the power cord outside the main unit of the air conditioner is approximately 1.2 meters. The position of the power socket should be selected in accordance with the installation location of the air conditioner main unit. As shown in Figure 3 |
Iv. Installation of the air conditioning main unit |
According to the basic principles of air conditioner installation, the air conditioner can be installed on the crossbeam or fixed on the crossbeam by installing Angle irons, and then fixed with M8 screws. The schematic diagram is as follows: |

Based on the structure of the car roof and in combination with the above picture, select the appropriate method and position to fix the air conditioning main unit. The slot at the bottom of the air conditioner main unit is higher at the front and lower at the back. After the bottom is installed horizontally, the air conditioner body will tilt slightly backward to ensure that the condensate water inside the air conditioner can flow smoothly to the rear of the air conditioner, and then be atomized and evaporated by the fan blade guide ring. So it is normal for the host to tilt slightly backward after installation. The main unit of the air conditioner is slightly heavy. During installation, handle it with care. Do not tilt the air conditioner at a large Angle (≥45°), flip it over, or step on it. It is strictly forbidden for the main unit to be bumped or dropped violently. Improper operation will cause damage to the internal structure of the air conditioner and affect its normal use. Host installation precautions: When choosing the installation location, it is necessary to consider reserving the operation space for personnel maintaining the elevator and air conditioning (≥0.12m²), and the height should meet the safety regulations for elevators. When installing an air conditioner, pay attention to the heat dissipation issue of the radiator at the rear of the air conditioner. A heat dissipation space of more than 100mm should be left.
V. Determine the air outlet. First, stick 10-15mm thick insulation material at the reserved fan position. The insulation cotton should be pasted on the metal surface of the air duct through which the cold air passes or blows. |
Vi. Method of Pasting Insulation Cotton on the air conditioning cold air outlet (* If the car is equipped with a ceiling, the gap between the edge and the ceiling can be used as a ventilation duct) |
Note: If there are no ceiling air outlets inside the car, the gap between the edge of the ceiling and the car wall can be used as a ventilation duct. Insulation cotton should be used to insulate the parts in contact with cold air. |
| When installing the air outlet, it is necessary to pay attention to the insulation measures at the gap between the cold air box and the louver and the nearby metal surface to prevent the leakage of cold/hot air and the formation of water on the metal surface due to excessive cooling. |
Vii. Connection of Insulated Hoses |
Viii. Fix the air box at the air outlet on the top of the car and do a good job in heat preservation and sealing.
Ix. Install and fix the main unit. Pay attention to the connection of the main unit's air ducts and do a good job in insulation and sealing treatment. You can refer to the schematic diagram of the insulation hose connection above. |
Note: As different construction sites have different handling methods, what needs to be noted is to do a good job in the connection of air and the insulation treatment of air outlets. The ventilation area of the air outlet should be more than 200cm to allow the cold air to blow directly into the car. Be careful to avoid direct contact of the metal where the cold air passes through. |
X. Installation of the receiving panel |
Xi. Installation Positions of decorative blinds |
| Regarding the side seams of the car ceiling that are too small, the wind cannot disperse and condensation is severe. If it is possible to obtain the user's consent to open holes and install air outlet louvers, you can contact the manufacturer to mail the direct air box and louvers (this accessory is not included in the regular accessories). Attached is the effect drawing of the louvers. |
The most common incorrect installation methods are as follows: |
1. The connection of the air ducts is reversed. The cold air duct is installed on the return air outlet, and the return air duct is installed on the cold air outlet. This directly leads to the fact that when the air conditioner is turned on, the roof of the car is all covered with condensation water droplets, cold air is lost, and the air conditioner has no cooling effect. |
2. The area around the air outlet has not been insulated. Whether it is the car cabin or the roof, the upper and lower parts of the air outlet should be insulated with thermal insulation cotton first to ensure that the areas where the cold air blows or passes do not come into contact with the metal surface. If insulation is not done well, cold air coming into contact with the metal surface will produce condensation water. |
3. The inner pipe of the cold air duct is not fixed. The cold air duct, which is the thick one, has an inner pipe inside. The inner pipe needs to be fixed first. If the inner pipe is not fixed and directly placed on the outside, when the air conditioner is turned on, the cold air inside will blow the inner pipe together and block the air duct. The cold air inside cannot escape, resulting in severe condensation and no cooling effect in the car. |
4. After the cold air ducts were fixed, they were not sealed and insulated at both ends. There is a black sealing tape in the attachment. After the cold air duct is fixed, it needs to be sealed again with the sealing tape to ensure no air leakage. Otherwise, if air leaks out and the temperature difference between the cold air and the outside exceeds 8 degrees, condensation will form in the air, causing condensation water to form on the top of the car. |
| After the air conditioner is installed and before the trial operation, please carefully check whether the air conditioner is reliably grounded. 2. When the power is connected, the air conditioner will make a "beep" sound. At this time, check the control panel. The power light is on and the cooling function is flashing. 3. Timed test: The principle of the timed test is to set the time at 8 a.m., set the timed startup time at 8:03 a.m., and the timed shutdown time at 8:08 a.m. Then, turn on the air conditioner to check if it can automatically turn on and off at the set time. Follow the scheduled operation on the remote control and proceed with the following steps: a. Press the "RESET" button to restore the data on the remote control. At this time, the system time of the remote control is AM 0:00, and the letter "CLOCK" on the screen is flashing. b. Press the "hour" key to set the time at 8:00 AM. (AM morning, PM afternoon) The meaning is to set the system time to 8 a.m. Press the "CLOCK" button on the left side of the back of the remote control to fix the time. At this point, the "CLOCK" letter on the screen stops flashing and the time cannot be adjusted. c. Press the "" button to adjust the scheduled startup time. Specific operation: Press the "" button. At this time, the screen will display" AM 8:00 ", which means the device is turned on at 8 a.m. At this moment, the "" pattern in the lower left corner of the screen is flashing. Press the "Minute" button to adjust the time to 8:03. At this point, stop the operation and wait for a few seconds. The "" on the screen will stop flashing, indicating that the scheduled startup time of 8:03 a.m. has been determined. d. Press the "" button. At this point," 6:00 PM "will appear on the right side of the screen. The time on the left is linked by a two-way arrow, and the pattern will flash. The meaning is that the scheduled shutdown time is 6 p.m. Before the pattern stops flashing, press the "Hour" button to adjust the time to 8:00 AM, and press the "Minute" button to adjust the time to 8:08 AM. Stop the operation and wait for a few seconds. When the pattern stops flashing, it indicates that the scheduled shutdown time of 8:05 am has been determined. After setting the timing switch, align the remote control with the "Switch" button on the control panel. At this point, the "Timing" light on the control panel will be on, indicating that a timing signal has been received. Continue to wait for whether the air conditioner turns on and off within the set time. If the air conditioner is turned on and off on time, it indicates that the timing function is in good condition and the timing operation is correct. If it cannot be started or stopped, turn off the power of the air conditioner, disconnect the power supply, reconnect the power supply to turn it on and set the timing function, or consult the after-sales department for a solution. After setting the timer function on the remote control, no other adjustments can be made. Once the timer function is activated, no other adjustments to the air conditioner's functions or modes can be made either; otherwise, the timer function will become invalid. |
4. Other functional tests: After the timed function test is completed, other functions such as cooling, heating (cold and warm type), high, medium and low air volume Settings, etc. will be tested. (Different customers may have different feelings and may have questions about the air volume. Specific data needs to be measured by professional instruments. All products of our company are strictly tested during the production process and before leaving the factory to ensure quality.) Refrigeration test conditions: The car temperature should be between 26 and 45 degrees. Set the air conditioner to the "cooling" state and set the temperature to 16 degrees to test its refrigeration. |
5. After the air conditioner test is completed, turn on and run the air conditioner to check the following items: A. Are there any abnormal sounds or vibrations during operation? B. Is the display area displayed normally? C. Inside the car, are there any condensation water droplets on the car walls and ceiling? D. Is there any gas leakage? E. Are all the functions of the remote control normal? F. Can the machine make a "beep" sound when transmitting a signal? |
6. After the installation is completed, the installers should truly achieve the following points: A. According to the user manual, explain to the user the key points of operation, the function methods of each key, precautions during operation and use, and other aspects. B. The disassembly and assembly method of the filter screen. C. Installation and removal of the remote control battery. D. Inform users to read the user manual carefully before use and answer their questions enthusiastically. At the same time, hand over the remaining double-sided tape, insulation cotton and other materials in the accessory box after installation to the user for future maintenance. |
